INTEGRATIVE HEALTH AT PURE BALANCE
Where Evidence-Informed Care Meets Whole-Person Wellness
At Pure Balance, we believe meaningful support begins with seeing the whole person—not simply a symptom, diagnosis, or challenge.
Our integrative philosophy brings together evidence-informed care and thoughtfully selected complementary wellness approaches, while respecting the purpose and evidence of each.
Because supporting the whole person sometimes means looking beyond a single approach.
What Does “Integrative Health” Mean?
More Than One Piece of the Puzzle
Integrative health considers the many factors that can influence how we feel and experience everyday life.
Rather than viewing physical, emotional, environmental, sensory, and lifestyle factors in isolation, an integrative perspective considers how these different pieces may interact and work alongside one another to support meaningful goals.

INTEGRATIVE HEALTH IN PRACTICE
Different Approaches. One Whole Person.
Health and well-being aren't shaped by just one thing. How we feel and function can be influenced by our bodies, emotions, sensory experiences, environment, routines, relationships, stress, and more.
That's why integrative care looks beyond a single approach. It allows conventional and complementary practices to work alongside one another when they make sense for the person and their goals.
And This Approach Has a Place in OT
The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) has an official position statement on Complementary Health Approaches and Integrative Health in Occupational Therapy, addressing how these approaches may be used within OT practice and how it supports occupational performance.
A Natural Fit With Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy has always taken a whole-person view. We don't just look at one skill or challenge—we consider the person, what matters to them, and their environment.
That same whole-person thinking is what makes integrative health feel like a natural extension of our approach. At Pure Balance, we stay grounded in good clinical reasoning while remaining open to additional approaches that support the whole person.
“The holistic nature of occupational therapy sets the stage for practitioners to explore the role of complementary interventions and approaches in practice to address occupational performance needs.”
